El seminario constará de tres charlas invitadas y una mesa redonda.

Fabio Nicoletti, presidente de la ICG, dará la charla inaugural acerca de los objetivos y actividades de esta asociación internacional, que agrupa a 34 países de los 5 continentes y que combina la promoción de la ciencia del vidrio con el impulso al desarrollo industrial vidriero.

Klaus Bange, experto de Schott y responsable del Advisory Committee de la ICG presentará el reciente trabajo editado por la ICG, Road-maps on Glass industry: Glass on 2020, que analiza las posibles hojas de ruta y las perspectivas y oportunidades del vidrio en sus distintos sectores y aplicaciones.

Finalmente, Bianca Scalet, responsable del sector del Vidrio del Bureau IPPC del Joint Centre de la UE en Sevilla, abordará los temas de legislación medioambiental en el sector vidriero en Europa.

La mesa redonda, con participación de representantes de la industria vidriera española, - vidrio plano, vidrio hueco y lanas de vidrio-, analizará la situación de la industria en el actual momento de crisis y las oportunidades y posibles salidas del sector.

Spanish Glass Industry: Challenges and opportunities in a crisis scenario.

The workshop will include three invited speakers and a round table.

Fabio Nicoletti, president of ICG, will give the inaugural talk about the objectives and activities of this association that includes 34 countries from the five continents, and combines the promotion of glass science with the support and impulse of glass industrial technology.  

Klaus Bange, expert from Schott and chairman of the Advisory Committee of ICG will present the just published work, edited by ICG, Road-maps on Glass industry: Glass on 2020 that analyses the perspectives, challenges and opportunities of glass industry in different sectors and applications.

Finally, Bianca Scalet, responsible of Glass Sector of the Bureau IPPC of Joint Centre UE in Seville, will address the different issues concerning environmental European legislation affecting the glass industry.

The Round Table, with participation of Spanish glass industry – flat glass, hollow glass and isolation fibres-, will analyse the Spanish situation discussing about the perspectives and opportunities to overcome the crisis.
